What was the highlight of ibis Ambassador Insadong
Well located but the nearby area is tricky to navigate
It's well located with lots of trendy eateries nearby. The station is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Very clean with friendly staff. They were renovating the hotel during our stay. However, it didn't affect us, as we got a newly renovated room.
The nearby area is a bit of a maze. So, if you use Naver maps, you'll be sent on a different route each time on the walk between the station and the hotel. At least, we got to know the area nearby pretty well this way. The mirror in the room faces the bed, so beware if you're superstitious.

Helpful staff great location!
Location, helpfulness of the staff
Our air conditioning did not work, however the staff did offer us a change in rooms - unfortunately due to our party size, that couldn’t work for us. Then we were offered a portable aircon. Very impressed with staff handling!

What was the highlight of ibis Ambassador Insadong
Comfortable, affordable and great location.
The room was comfortable, especially the bed. Crisp clean linen. It was nice to see a hotel that actually did what it says about replacing towels. Many hotels say that they are eco friendly but still replace towels very day. Staff were very friendly and helpful- especially James who helped me with taxis. Breakfast was very good with a good mix of asian and western dishes which varied daily. Location was fabulous- 12 mins to Cheongdeokgung and about 25 mins walk to Geogbeokgung Palaces. Even closer to Jongmo Shrine. Location also has you in heart of the food area around Insadong- so plenty of cuisines to choose from. It was also a short walk to Insadong Street- for shopping. Hotel is popular with tour groups.
The air conditioning system is not efficient. A little noisy at night and temperature adjustment was not possible. The room remained at 25 degrees C the whole trip. For me, that is fine but for some perhaps not. The issue did not seemed confined to my room as many rooms had windows open for air to get in. Note that the windows do not have safety locks so there may be an issue with people traveling with young children. Room was also a little dark during the day and I would recommend that people request a room facing the front. Bathroom was a little pokey (small shower) and so if you are a little larger than some, the shower will be quite small. Water was hot however.

Very Good
Location is excellent and I think the hotel is good.
Lots of upgrade work at the time of my trip so a lot of the facilities were closed, and their were lots of mattresses against walls and things like that.
